We can also help to slow down what's happening. That's what the National Energy Foundation in Milton Keynes is here to do. You can help by:
  • registering to join The Climate Challenge and making your voice heard,
  • taking steps to reduce your own CO2 emissions, and
  • encouraging others - including local businesses - to do the same.

Climate change in Milton Keynes
Climate change is happening in Milton Keynes just as it's happening everywhere else:
  • Winters are getting wetter.
  • Heavier rain can mean more storm damage and flash floods.
  • Summers are getting hotter and drier.
  • Very hot summers can put the elderly and the very young at risk.
  • Drier summers mean more hosepipe bans and water shortages.
The good news is that people and businesses in Milton Keynes can do their bit to help fight climate change by joining The Climate Challenge.
Local solutions from the National Energy Foundation;
The National Energy Foundation (NEF) is based in Milton Keynes.

We're an educational charity trying to help people and businesses to reduce their CO2 emissions through energy efficiency and sustainable energy solutions.

Working with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, so far we have:
  • made up to 1.1 million people aware of The Climate Challenge project,
  • worked with 1,500 Co-op stores to distribute 750,000 awareness leaflets, and
  • run a major radio advertising campaign to raise awareness of The Climate Challenge.
  • Held a very successful exhibition in thecentre:mk  one of the biggest shopping centres in the UK . Exhibitors included educational stands explaining everyday facts about climate change as well as renewable energy providers, environmentally friendly product suppliers/manufacturers and a large cross section of organisations from different many business sectors.  It was opened by Jordan Stephens Defra Climate Champion for the South East.   Many people came along with the whole family and the show was featured on BBC2 Working Lunch http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/
