NESTA

Local United brings together and supports community activists who are setting up social enterprises to address the challenges of peak oil and climate change. It aims to speed up the rate at which good ideas are adopted by community groups motivated to build low-carbon economies.

Local United already provides action packs to aid communities who wish to set up their own social ventures that combat climate change and peak oil. Eventually Local United will offer tailored support to communities setting up their own projects.

One of Local United's first projects is an ethical energy supplier switching scheme. The scheme allows community groups and Local United to raise money just by individuals within the community switching energy supplier to one of our four ethical energy supply partners.
