Milton Keynes Energy Event – 16-17 June
13/06/2012

The National Energy Foundation based in Milton Keynes is supporting Milton Keynes Council’s local Energy Weekend as a great way for residents to learn more about making energy savings in the home as part of the European Union’s Sustainable Energy Week http://eusew.eu/.

LOCAL residents can take part in an interactive weekend packed with ideas on saving money and energy as Milton Keynes Council is organising an exciting energy event at Midsummer Place on 16 -17 June to coincide  with EU Sustainable Energy Week.

Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, the event will include:

  • New free home insulation offer – Cocoon is now able to offer cavity wall and loft insulation for free to all homeowners and private renters, down from the previous deal of £95.
  • Free lights - LED, next generation, low energy lights, from IKEA; one per household, while stocks last.
  • Bicycle power generator display – try it yourself and see the difference between powering a tungsten lamp and a low energy one.
  • IMAGINE MK 2050 - what will be the future of energy in Milton Keynes? We want your ideas.

Details about the event and more can be found via the Council’s Carbon website:  www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/carbon
