Solar Water Heating
BPEC run a course developed in conjunction with the Solar Trade Association aimed at already qualified or experienced domestic heating engineers and plumbers. The course usually takes approximately 2-3 days to complete including theory, practical and assessment.
There are a number of assessment centres that run the BPEC approved course and they can be found following the web link.
Logic Certification also offer a course in Solar Thermal Domestic Hot Water (although unlike the BPEC course it does not cover roof mounting). Both the BPEC and the Logic Certification courses can assist in achieving recognition under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) which is required to gain access to Government support initiatives for microgeneration e.g the Low Carbon Buildings Porgramme
Epogee
Certification provides training courses for both
individuals and professionals wishing to learn how to
install solar water heating panels. Three courses are
available from 1day, 2day & 4day. No prior
experience is necessary. Epogee courses are recognised
by LANTRA for the Welsh training grant scheme.
Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)
BPEC Certification have a training course in Ground Source Heat Pumps running in conjunction with the Renewable Energy Installer Academy in Northern Ireland . Logic Certification is developing training on GSHP. The Centre for Alternative Technology runs weekend courses in Ground Source Heat Pumps. Epogee Certification provides a 1day training course in Ground Source Heat Pump system design and installation. In addition, a number of GSHP companies run training for the installation of their systems (such as EarthEnergy Ltd ; Worcester Bosch and Ice Energy ).
Biomass
