Introduction to Renewable Energy

Next dates:

March 2nd 2010, National Energy Centre, Milton Keynes

This training course has been accredited by the Energy Institute and provides a great opportunity to learn about the main renewable energy technologies.

NEF's own internal trainers will endeavour to answer all related questions on the day, but for which they can't, information will be sent out after the event.

::  About the Training Course     ::  Who should attend

A one day non-technical training seminar being run on a quarterly basis which provides an introduction to the main renewable energy technologies, to include grants and funding aswell as planning and policy issues. The training is held in Milton Keynes but can be offered elsewhere on request.

This one day training course introduces and explains the main renewable energy technologies including:-

  • Solar Water Heating
  • Wood Fuel Heating
  • Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Solar Photovoltaics and
  • Small to Medium Scale Wind

The course includes interactive sessions in which delegates will discuss the most appropriate renewable energy technology for a number of different scenarios.  Every effort is made to ensure that any questions that delegates may have about renewable energy are answered - if we can not answer them on the day, we will send out our answers after the event.

This course is aimed at advisors; local authority staff; energy managers and householders who want an introduction to the main renewable energy technologies, to include grants, planning issues, economics and combining the different technologies.

No previous knowledge or experience of renewable energy is assumed.

The course provides a general introduction to the technical aspects of each technology but does not provide in depth training in this area which will instead be covered in the technology specific courses.

The course is limited to a maximum of sixteen delegates to allow for effective workshop sessions and to allow plenty of opportunity for delegates to ask questions.  The day will start with registration at 9.30am and end at 16.30pm.
