| Positive involvement of the local community is often the crucial factor determining whether a renewable energy installation such as a wind turbine or farm can proceed or not.
As a well respected independent charity we are particularly effective in liasing and consulting with other stakeholders and interested parties in the planning process for renewables and have been involved in a number of consultation days alongside developers, often with our exhibition vehicle the Green Energy Machine (GEM). NEF have also hosted open days for developers, sought the views of the public by asking them to complete questionnaires they have devised and worked with developers in putting their proposals to local planning bodies.
In addition we can host new approaches to community involvement such as online consultation which can accentuate positive engagement with local interest groups without being overwhelmed by local protest.
