GEM: The Green Energy Machine

The Green Energy Machine - GEM is a demonstration vehicle housing exciting examples of renewable energy that help towards an understanding of the technologies involved. The displays include a solar fountain, solar bike, a 350 Watt wind turbine, solar water heating demonstrations, an 800 Watt photovoltaic (solar electric) array and a wood burning stove.

GEM is available for hire and is an ideal way to add value to shows, community events, and awareness raising events for companies or local authorities. Small presentations can be held inside GEM and audio-visual equipment can be run from the batteries that are recharged by the solar electric panels and the wind turbine located on the vehicle.

GEM is available all year round

The basic booking fee is £500 per day + expenses (60p/mile) + VAT

NB. NEF is based in Milton Keynes. GEM travels to community events up to 100 miles distance and schools events up to 60 miles away. Travel to events further a field is sometimes possible, but incurs further time and accommodation costs. All bookings are subject to staff being available
