Wood
Pellet Fuel Production 2
National
Energy Centre, Milton Keynes 13th June 2006
Overview
With
concerns about climate change a hot political issues and the cost
of fossil fuels increasing rapidly, interest in the use and production
of wood pellets is at an all time high.
In
response to the large number of enquiries we have received since
our last Conference on this subject in February 2005 the National
Energy Foundation organised a second Seminar on Wood Pellet
Fuel Production on the 13th June 2006.
The
Conference was aimed at those who are considering getting into pellet
production who would like to learn more from those already in the
industry about the suitability of raw materials, economics, pellet
standards, the different scales of production, the work being
done to produce a national pellet fuel supply network, marketing
pellets and funding. With the Government having recently announced
that there will be a further round of the Bio-energy Infrastructure
Grant Scheme (to register an interest, please e-mail Katherine
Donne at DEFRA or ring her on 020 7238 6496) now is a good time
to be thinking of getting into pellet production.
The
Conference was also suitable for those new to wood pellets who simply
wish to know more about them as there will be an overview of pellet
technology and case studies on the use of pellet boilers.
The National Energy Foundation
don't have any current plans to run another seminar on this
subject, but if demand is high enough we will certainly consider
it, so please let us know if you would be interested in further
events.
