Cottsway - renewable/low-carbon energy technologies feasibility study

Cottsway housing association required us to identify the most appropriate renewable or low-carbon energy technologies to implement, taking into account: fuel resources, reliability, user friendliness, local planning constraints and savings versus costs, in terms of both finance and carbon emissions.

We conducted a comprehensive  review of the renewable technology options available to the association, including:

Zero emission technologies:

  • Solar thermal.
  • Solar thermal space heating.
  • Solar photovoltaic (PV).
  • Small-scale hydroelectric.
  • Wind generation.
  • Hydrogen fuel cells.

Low emissions technologies:

  • Biomass.
  • Ground source heat pumps.
  • Air source heat pumps.
  • Water source heat pumps.

We provided the association with a comprehensive report detailing the most viable technologies (from both a financial and CO2 perspective) appropriate for use at the designated site.
