The National Energy Foundation helped two of our customers, Jerry Green Dog Rescue and Westwood Farm, by completing an Independent Report on Metering Arrangements assessment as part of their RHI applications. NEF staff visited both sites with me and completed the assessment on time and within budget. Both customers are now in receipt of their RHI payments. Ambervale has no hesitation in recommending the National Energy Foundation and I can’t thank them enough.
The National Energy Foundation enabled South Bucks District Council to manage a very challenging project across 14 local authorities, 58 different installers plus many different organisations and community and residents groups. This enabled 577 households to benefit from improved energy efficiency and better living conditions. The Foundation managed to bring over £4.3 million of investment into improved insulation, and delivered a complex project to a conclusion within the Government timescales whilst addressing changing market conditions and requirements. NEF’s expertise and, in particular, the skill, commitment and determination of Sandra Hayes (NEF Project Manager) were essential to the successful delivery of this project, and in making it an overall success.
We successfully partnered with the National Energy Foundation to provide our Independent Reports on Metering Arrangements and heat loss calculations, essential for us to receive the Renewable Heat Incentive. The Foundation also helps us with RHI application support; saving us time, effort and cost.
Cherwell District Council's Bicester Delivery team was exceptionally happy with the service NEF provided. We aimed to deliver a boiler cashback scheme to the public that was easy to take up by residents and not have loads of administrative hurdles. That was achieved - thanks to NEF.
NEF did a good piece of work for us on the gas network analysis, and we were pleased with the report they produced. It explored the viability of extending the local gas network, answered a number of questions for us and also provided some avenues for further consideration.
Boundary Way was a complex project as it involved private and social housing customers and a number of different funding agencies. The project team worked hard to ensure that as many customers as possible could benefit from external wall insulation. The result both enhances the look of the homes as well as achieving environmental benefits and financial savings for customers.
NEF staff worked hard to coordinate the Boundary Way project over a large and diverse area, liaising between the householder, the contractor, the partners and DECC as the key funder. They helped to ensure the project met its objectives - despite various challenges - including changes to Green Deal funding.
Well done and thanks for all your hard work and for coping with the hair-pulling-out moments to make the Boundary Way project happen.

The National Energy Foundation plays a pivotal part in bringing together key organisations to form the Oxfordshire Affordable Warmth Network, working together to tackle fuel poverty. The Foundation delivers a wide variety of services, including presentations to community groups, attending outreach events and flu vaccinations clinics, training front-line council staff and, above all, a free telephone advice line. The Affordable Warmth Helpline offers free and impartial advice on all aspects of saving energy and managing fuel bills and, in doing so, provides an invaluable service to vulnerable residents. It's a huge help to me on a daily basis to be able to refer residents to a single point of contact which I am confident will deal with queries comprehensively and provide excellent customer service.

Had the council administered the grant itself, its estimated administrative costs would have been at least £20,000. The incentive grant was administered and fully managed by the National Energy Foundation, therefore saving around £16,500.
